Correspondence-Hafetz Hayim. 1921-1926.

Letters of Rabbi Yisrael Meir ha-Cohen Kagan, known as the Hafets Hayim, and his son-in-law Rabbi Aron Kagan, to Michael Shlomo (Samuel) Strelser of New York, concerning the financial needs of Rabbi Kagan's yeshivah in Radin, as well as other educational institutions there, and letters of Strelser to them. Also letters between Strelser and a relative in Dorchester, Mass., and a printed appeal from Rabbi Y.M. Kagan, etc. to relief organizations in America, requesting financial aid for impoverished Torah institutions in Europe. In one of Rabbi Aron Kagan's letters, there is a lengthy description of the odyssey of the Hafets Hayim's yeshivah during and after World War I. There is a also a picture of a rabbi in a newspaper that seems to be misidentified as the Hafetz Hayim.
